Father. Small Business Owner. Navy Veteran. Fmr City Councilman. Charter School Co-founder.
Ryan was raised by a single mother in a working poor neighborhood. His mom worked two and sometimes three jobs, cleaning houses and schools, to provide for him and his two brothers. His mother raised him with the values of hard work, faith in God, and perseverance—to continuously strive to make a life for himself and to always do his part. These values have guided Ryan as a small business owner, a father, during his time in the U.S. Navy, and as co-founder of a public charter school educating over 800 students.
Ryan runs a business that provides strategy development and professional services across the aviation, tourism, energy, education, and health care sectors. He was named a Senior Fellow of the Health Research and Education Trust. He knows a growing economy, access to healthcare, and a quality education brings more opportunity and higher income for everyday Americans.
While serving in the U.S. Navy, he was assigned to the National Security Agency where he led an intelligence analysis and reporting center in real-time support of combat operations and U.S. national security interests—in the Middle East, North Africa, and around the world. He served alongside the most honorable and dedicated people this country could ask for.
He served two consecutive terms as an At-Large City Councilman representing the entire city of Aurora, Colorado's 3rd largest community. He helped balance the budget of over $750 million and guided a fiscally responsible city. He worked to shaped the redevelopment of the former Fitzsimons Army base into a medical/bioscience campus and part of the council that began the effort to bring the Gaylord Rockies Hotel to Aurora.
Ryan loves getting out, taking in Colorado, riding his bike around Aurora, and hanging out with his family and friends. He earned a B.A. from Columbia College, and an M.S. from Regis University.
